Not so Wordless Wednesday – Summer Fun

Happy Wordless Wednesday! Are you just as thrifty in the summer as you are the rest of the year or does having the kids home for a few months have you falling into a convenience food and entertainment rut?

I like to spend once and play ten times, so we look for things like zoo memberships that let us come back over and over again for the price of one or two admissions. We also take advantage of free programs from the library, trips to the park and fun fests and free trips to the fair. The local movie theaters have free admission to a few movies each week, too.

How do you have fun in the summer while staying frugal?

lots of picnics, walks and generally just playing on the street with chalk, water balloons/guns, etc. Since you mentioned all the above have you checked out the summer movie program? They normally have a great deal for the kids to watch all the movies for a certain price which is always cheaper than going normally. Just a thought.Happy WW!
