Well, I think that my third visit to CVS is more like week 5 or 6, but I am going with week 3. So, How did I do? Umm… I spent $48.78. Gulp. I do have 9 CVS bucks for my next visit, but…Wow! What happened? Easter clearance. That’s what happened. I should never enter a store when there is a holiday clearance sale. I spent $20 on baskets and stuff for next year.

So, the other $20? Well, a lot of the deals this week ended up being 25 cents, 99 cents, or a dollar. It adds up. Stick a gallon of milk in the cart and you’re at $20 before you know it. In case you get to CVS this week, the Colgate toothpaste for $2 ECB minus a 75 cent coupon is 25 cents and the Stride Shift gum is free after ECB.

How did you do this week? Hopefully, better than I did!

Well, this week’s CVS Adventure took awhile to get to. I finally was able to make it over Friday night to grab the deals. Money Saving Mom had mentioned that there was a coupon at the scanner for $1 off CVS brand paper towels, so I snagged that first. Then, I grabbed an Oral B brush, a Nivea lip balm and a CVS big roll of paper towels. I have been so busy with my internship and a few other things that I didn’t have time to look for coupons to match up, but I think there is one for the toothbrush. Since I didn’t have it, I might not have done as well as some people, but here is my report for this week’s adventures:

1 Oral B toothbrush $4

1 Nivea lip balm $2.99

1 CVS EE Big roll of paper towels $1.29

8.78 after tax

Scanned my bag tag, so just two more to go.

Handed over one $1 off paper towel coupon and $5.50 in ECB bucks from last week. 8.78-6.50=$2.28 out of pocket and $6.99 in ECB for next week’s deals. Yay! (Now, I am working on building my ECB up, but I still wouldn’t go spend money out of pocket on things I didn’t need. People go through a lot of toothbrushes around here and the heat has really dried out a lot of lips. So, I don’t mind paying $1 each out of pocket for those things and 28 cents for the towels. )

I am happy to report that my first week at CVS was successful. I was able to buy a Softsoap body wash for $4.49 minus $1 coupon and got a $4 Extra Buck. Then, I got Power Bar Gels for $1.50 and got a $1.50 Extra Buck. (If you clip all your coupons instead of having someone else clip them for you and throw out the ones they aren’t interested in having you buy, you’ll probably have a $1 off Power Bar Gel coupon. Unfortunately, I had a selective helper the week that coupon came out!)

So, I have invested $5.98 plus tax in CVS so far (Including the 99 cent Green tag) and have $5.50 in Extra Bucks to roll over into a deal next week and one credit toward my 4 Green tag uses. I’m pretty excited so far! How did you do at your CVS this week?

Well, I’m starting my CVS deals adventures this week. I began with a quick trip to scope out the store and make sure my CVS Extra Care Card was still working okay. While I was there, I bought a tag to put on my reusable grocery bag. That tag lets me save $1 every 4th visit. The tag cost 99 cents, but will pay for itself within a few weeks.

The next thing I did was hunt around for my Extra Care Card. Then, even though I probably won’t have enough CVS brand purchases by March 15th to make it worthwhile, I signed up for the Double Bucks program. It took a few seconds and it will hopefully help me remember to sign up for the next Double Bucks promotion.

The third thing I did was check Money Saving Mom to see if she listed the deals for this week as she usually does. Yup! Looks like I’ll be picking up a Softsoap body wash to start my Bucks rolling. (Note to self – hook up printer again to stop missing out on deals that require me to print coupons…)

And continuing the celebrities who shop at CVS fun: Kourtney Kardashian.
