If you’ve been reading this blog, you know that I’m a big fan of Swagbucks, which is a great way to earn Amazon gift cards. They sent me a heads up about a new Summer of Swag program starting on Monday:

So, you’re thinking, “Ah, she just wants a referral,” right? Well, they’re nice, but I tell a lot of people about Swagbucks when I’m nowhere near a computer with a handy referral link, too. There is nothing nicer than being paid to do some research online, especially if you’re a college student, a teacher, a librarian…

I use Swagbucks to feed my book habit in a somewhat thrifty manner. I’m just about to cash in for another Amazon.com gift card, which I will combine with a few other gift cards to get books that are on my current wish list. (Yup. I happily accept Amazon gift cards as birthday gifts. I also would be thrilled with a rain barrel.) One of the books on my list is Small-Scale Grain Raising by Gene Logsdon. I wasn’t going to buy it since I already have a book on growing grain for home gardeners, but this is an excellent book. I returned almost every other book I got from the last borrowing spree at the library (I love interlibrary loan.) but still have this one on my desk to read one more time before I return it. To me, that is a sure sign that I should consider purchasing the book.

Swagbucks Daily Poll

If you are anything like me, you’re pretty much addicted to Swagbucks. Earning bucks to redeem for gift cards just because I’m searching for information through the Swagbucks.com search engine? Yup. That’s totally cool with me. (Am I dating myself with eighties slang?)

Plus, Swagbucks has just introduced a new daily poll feature lets us earn Swagbucks every day simply by voting. You get to tell everyone how you feel about the topic of the poll and you get Swagbucks for doing so. On top of that, if you submit a poll and it gets used as a daily poll, you can get 100 Swagbucks. I completely neglected to add the Swagbucks plugin to my browser window when I had to replace my laptop because of its imminent demise. (Am I the only one who notices that the first laptop lasted until the letters literally wore off the keys and the new ones seem to last 12-18 months? I’ve gone through three in the past five years after one that lasted the entire five years.) Anyway, I realized I wasn’t earning Swagbucks and added the plugin so that I could make all my searches through Swagbucks, cashed them in and got a notice today that my $5 Amazon gift card is ready to be spent.

I don’t do a ton of searching. Most times, I’m typing a url directly into the window instead of doing a search. But what I do search for pays off in six or seven $5 gift cards a year. When I used to do more searching because of research projects, I really earned bucks fast.

Earn Gift Cards With Swagbucks Search and Win

We have a big family, so all those birthday gifts and Christmas gifts really add up. The after holiday clearance sales and Target’s summer toy sale take care of the little kids pretty cheaply, but what about teens and adults? Well, that’s where Swagbucks comes in.

Every search I do, I do through Swagbucks and I do a lot of searches. Even if I’m not really online as much as I normally am, I easily earn enough bucks to cash in for a $5 Amazon gift card in a month by looking up answers to questions, searching for recipes, etc.

The search results are pooled from Google and Ask, so the quality of the results is pretty good. And if you’re going to be searching anyway, why not collect some points to redeem for gift cards at the same time? Not a fan of gift cards? There are a lot of other prizes to redeem bucks for, too, like a Mace Windu action figure.
